Overview
The AL-PWS-8D is an 8 port PoE injector with integrated DALI compatibility. All eight ports function just like a typical PoE injector by providing 48v to PoE devices. Along with PoE, the injector creates a DALI bus to connect together DALI enabled PoE devices.

Input Power
The injector can be powered using a 48v power supply with a standard 2.1mm barrel connector.

Ports
The RJ45 connector uses the T568A pinout order in Mode-B. This allows for two power conductors, two ground lines, three DALI connections, and an N-WAY output for multi switch control.

The 16v DALI bus is created internally at 65mA. The negative DALI connection is located on pin 6 and connected directly to the ground bus. There are two positive DALI connections on pins 1 and 2. Any DALI device can be connected to the bus.
If two switches need to be connected together but cannot be connected together directly, they can be connected through the injector. Internal jumpers between adjacent ports will connect both pin 3's together. The case needs to be removed to connect the ports together.

The LED located at the top of the unit has a green and a red LED. The meanings are

Version / Assembly Notes:
DALI power supply is 16 volts at 65 mA
Internal jumper connects pin 3 to adjacent socket
Blue case is 76, 62, 176 RGB
R1 is 150k ( need to replace V1) for Red LED
R2 is 22k ( need to add to V1) for Green LED
note: V1 shows Red if DALI power is present but 48v is not
V2 fixed
note: V1 has pin 2 wired to pin 1 - use only with AL-PWS-DR1 (V1) or hand wired DR2/Wiz8/Pi
V2 has pin 2 tied to ground - use only with AL-PWS-DR1 (V2) or connectorized DR2/Wiz8/Pi
