  AL-WS-DR2 hardware / firmware versions

Isolator

Two adjacent AL-WS-DR2 in CCT or 8x LED mode, might have enough crosstalk - to cause an "off" LED to glow or flicker

A ferrous isolator is available to fix this.     A kind of Tin Hat

Set the device between two DR2, see photo for exact location:

Iso-3DIMG_6461

Version 3 of our DR2 product offers many improvements over the previous versions.
It is called AL-WS-DR2F informally and AL-WS-DR2 v10 officially
there are 16k and 32k versions

used for auto detect
1
Independent Left and Right LED drivers
set by DALI
2
LED left 660 mA
FAN right 12 volts
if motor detected on the right side
3
CCT LED mode
default if LED count left and right have the same number of LEDs
4
ALL Fixed mode
default if LED count left and right does not match
5
PIR_Load
Right output is always on, smart fixture attached can be used to trigger a scene
6
Left is 660 mA and Right is 12vdc
for 12v bulbs
8
Detected CCT mode, still in Auto at power up

The Driver mode is determined in most cases automatically.   The mode can be overruled by the DALI master using DALI commands (see data sheet)

There is one case that cannot be determined automatically.  An 8 LED fixed color installation will power up as a CCT color installation causing the lights to operate at 1/2 power.  If DALI is not available to change this mode - then the installer can force this setting by disconnecting one LED, power cycle the AL-WS-DR2, then reconnect the LED.  The DR2 will operate in 8x mode.

N-Way operation modes

The N-Way input can be controlled by DALI commands from the DALI master - see the data sheet.  Here is a summary.

DALI code
N-Way input mode
 AL-WS-DR2
AL-WS-DR2F
0
Three way Rocker
default
auto detect if switch ON for 45 seconds
1
Three way Momentary
detected on first use
auto detect if switch press briefly 5 times
2
Split LED
yes
allows LEFT controlled by Main switch, Right by N-Way
must also set Driver as Split mode
3

Fan / Timer

no
auto set if motor detected  ( Times set by DALI )
Left (LED) follows switch
Right (LED or FAN) control
    a)  follows LEFT switch after 90 seconds, stays on 10 minutes.
    b)  follows N-Way rocker with 10 minute auto off.
    c)  each N-Way momentary press adds 5 minutes then auto off
4
Night
no
N-Way active High input causes:
a) Split Driver:  Right LEDs on with 10%
Main switch operates normally
5

PIR
yes
RIght is ON
Left is switched
N-Way active High input causes both LEDs on at DIM level
.
